Jeremy and Ann met at Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN, from which they both graduated, and were married in January of 1998. Jeremy was ordained in 2002 and served as a youth pastor. In 2006, God blessed them with the addition of their daughter. In the summer of 2010 they were again blessed with the birth of their son. Since 1998, Jeremy and Ann committed their lives to reaching teenagers and their families with the life changing love of Jesus Christ. God placed a desire in their hearts to minister together as a team and they have felt extremely blessed to do so. They are passionate about discipling families to reach their full potential for Christ centeredness and wholeness.
In January of 2008, Jeremy and Ann believed that God was directing them towards church planting. In the summer of 2008 Jeremy and Ann left the greater Milwaukee area and returned to Mishawaka to begin the process of starting a new church. Their prayer has been that God would break their hearts over the things that break His heart. As a result they long to live in a community of authenticity and to be an extension of the grace, hope and love that can only be found through Jesus Christ.
Karleen Hallock loves a good journey. Her own journey has brought her all the way from South America, where she grew up, right here to Epic Church in Mishawaka.
As executive pastor, Karleen oversees the day-to-day operations and administration of the church and staff, along with focusing on care and pastoral counseling needs in the church family. She’s been a part of Epic from the very beginning, and her story is one of many interwoven into the journey of our church. Finding each story is a passion of Karleen’s.
"I love seeing individuals being reconciled to Christ," she says. "I love watching them take their next steps. I love hearing the stories of people encountering Jesus for the first time. I love walking alongside developing leaders. And I love watching the sparkle in someone’s eye when they realize there is a God who deeply loves and cares for them and that they exist for a purpose!"
If you can’t tell already, Karleen loves interacting with people. When she’s not at church, you’ll find her with friends, enjoying the outdoors, or reading a challenging book.
Make sure to connect with Karleen next time you’re at church. She would love to hear more of your story!
Director of Creative Arts
Music can be a powerful way to share stories. At Epic, Ann LeVan is passionate about using music to help people encounter Jesus. She longs to be a follower of Jesus who makes disciples that make disciples.
As director of worship arts, Ann leads all aspects of worship including coordinating schedules, music and prep as well as leading worship from the stage most weekends.
"Music provides words when we don't have any," Ann says. "It moves us. When music is used as a vehicle of worship, I see God break down walls, people fall to their knees, broken lives restored, dry places refreshed, and souls nourished!"
A simple line from a song on Sunday morning can impact a person’s life. It can encourage them to ask questions and seek God. In turn, it can move them to share their experiences with others. Ann wants people to see Christ through the music on Sunday mornings.
Ann is married to her husband Jeremy, the founding pastor of Epic Church. They have been married since 1998, and they have two wonderful children – 13-year-old, Caitlin, and 8-year-old Jace.
Ann and Jeremy were called by God to plant a church in Mishawaka. But at the time, they lived in Wisconsin. Through what Ann calls "a series of incredible confirmations that only God could orchestrate," they ended up in Mishawaka, and Epic Church was born.
Now Ann seeks to live in and live out God’s love through worship. She’d love to talk more about it with you. Make sure to connect with her on Sunday morning!
