After the earthquake that hit the coastal region of Ecuador in 2016, Epic Church started a partnership with a local church on the island of Muisne, one of the places where the devastation was most significant. After helping with training and emergency response, our next goal was to help them rebuild 11 of the homes that were partially or completely destroyed. For that, we took on the challenge of raising $66,000 to bring back hope and show the love of Jesus to these families who are in such deep need. Because of the overwhelming generosity of so many, we were actually able to raise $72,126.69 to rebuild 12 homes!
Epic’s focus for this past summer was Living out God’s love to our community, through our partnership with Miami Village Church and the City of South Bend. Therefore, we worked together on projects to improve the conditions of their buildings, and help to further the work of the City of South Bend in the area. It was a wonderful time to serve, share and enjoy the summer outside.
Epic Church is excited to continue our partnership with Compassion International in Chillanes, Ecuador. We have sponsored almost 100 children over the past 3 years, and we are looking forward to sponsoring at least 15 more in the next couple of months! Compassion International has given Epic the opportunity to impact an entire city by planting churches, supplying food and shelter, providing medical care, and supporting educational programs for those living in extreme poverty. We not only get to impact the community at large, but we get to form personal relationships with the children we sponsor.
Join us in helping bring Jesus’ light to the world!

An epic is a poem. Our lives are like poems written by our Creator God. We are God’s masterpiece (Eph. 2:10) and we believe that He longs to narrate more and more of His love on the pages of our hearts.
The focal point of an epic is usually a central hero. We recognize that we are far from perfect, and yet we have a hope that is found in following our hero – Jesus.
Finally, an epic is BIG. As we come to understand more of God’s love, we believe that He will transform our lives. We will begin to see people and circumstances through His eyes. As a result, God will do big things in us and through us as we live in and live out His love to the people of Mishawaka and throughout the world.
